It has been almost 2 years since I posted this message about using the computer to help women get pants that fit. The need has yet to disappear and the puzzle continues to intrigue me so I am back at developing the Pants for Women Fitting System that includes Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) to make it work better. Even figuring how to teach it online is problem solving and math dependent. I loved knitting as a child and a young adult and it started me on my math based career. If someone is tabulating math careers not sure I would end up in that count. What about you? ... See MoreSee Less
Girls Knit Their Way to a Math Career
Knitting and crocheting require mathematical thought. A growing movement hopes to use these crafts to interest girls in the sciences.
It's unfortunate that the women's fashion industry, the industry in charge of helping women get dressed in the morning, treats women (and men) so unfairly at times. It is equally unfortunate that so few people take a stand to fight for human rights when faced with prejudice against them, or against a friend,or a family member or anyone else who is being taken advantage of. ...
